Sino al 14 giugno 2024 la galleria EContemporary ha il piacere di ospitare nuovamente l’artista toscano Roberto Ghezzi con una sintesi della mostra “ăquae” curata da EContemporary e da Start Cultura e presentata con successo lo scorso anno presso il Fondaco dei Tedeschi di Venezia.
Ghezzi porta inoltre con sè un 2023 ricco di soddisfazioni artistiche che lo hanno visto protagonista non solo della bella mostra veneziana, ma di nuovi progetti artistici che sono stati oggetto di importanti mostre presso prestigiose sedi espositive quali Palazzo della Corgna a Castiglione del lago, la Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Roma e l’Acquario comunale di Milano, solo per citarne alcune.
La mostra che abbiamo il piacere di portare all’attenzione del pubblico fa parte del suo ventennale percorso denominato Naturografie© in cui è inserito anche il progetto “ăquae” che a sua volta nasce da un progetto curato dalla galleria nel 2019 lungo le coste del nord Adriatico sviluppatosi tra la Croazia, la Slovenia e il Friuli Venezia Giulia e che negli anni 2021 e 2022 è approdato nella laguna di Venezia.
Le opere esposte in questa mostra infatti sono state create nella laguna veneta, in luoghi molto diversi tra loro dal punto di vista ambientale e per questo estremamente significativi: ambienti naturali e antropizzati. Le locations scelte dall’artista per le sue installazioni sono state lo specchio acqueo all’interno dell’Arsenale, in alcune barene della Laguna Sud di Venezia, nella Riserva WWF di Val Averto e presso l’isola Falconera.
Come già noto le opere di Roberto Ghezzi sono una risultanza di un processo tra Uomo e Natura dove l’artista agisce scegliendo il luogo dell’installazione e il materiale rigorosamente naturale del supporto, affidando poi le tele alle acque e alle terre e soprattutto demandando al tempo e alla casualità dell’intervento della Natura stessa il compito di completare l’opera.
Le Naturografie© di Roberto Ghezzi, oltre a possedere una forte connotazione artistica, stanno acquisendo sempre più una valenza scientifica, un efficace mezzo di ricognizione sullo stato degli ambienti (naturali o antropizzati) in cui vengono installate. Grazie alla collaborazione iniziata nel 2021 con il CNR-IOM di Trieste e il CNR-ISMAR di Venezia, alcuni campioni di tessuto di questo progetto sono stati oggetto di studi scientifici grazie alle indagini condotto con il microscopio elettronico a scansione (SEM).
Il risultato di questo progetto artistico può essere interpretato da molteplici prospettive: artistiche, filosofiche e scientifiche. Lo spettatore si trova di fronte ad una produzione inconsueta, portatrice di canoni estetici misti (naturali-umani), valenze simboliche (l’artista che delega l’atto gestuale alla natura), aspetti etici (la comprensione ed il dialogo con il paesaggio e la sua salvaguardia).
From April 5 to May 25, 2024 EContemporary gallery is pleased to host, once again, Tuscan artist Roberto Ghezzi with a summary of the exhibition “ăquae” curated by EContemporary and Start Cultura and successfully presented last year at the Fondaco dei Tedeschi in Venice.
Ghezzi also brings with him a 2023 full of artistic satisfactions that have seen him as the protagonist not only of the beautiful Venetian exhibition, but of new artistic projects that have been the subject of important exhibitions at prestigious venues such as Palazzo della Corgna in Castiglione del lago, the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rome and the Municipal Aquarium in Milan, just to name a few.
The exhibition that we are pleased to bring to the public’s attention is part of its 20-year journey called Naturografie© in which the project “ăquae” is also included, which in turn stems from a project curated by the gallery in 2019 along the coasts of the northern Adriatic developed between Croatia, Slovenia and Friuli Venezia Giulia and which in the years 2021 and 2022 landed in the Venice Lagoon.
In fact, the works shown in this exhibition were created in the Venetian Lagoon, in places that are very different from each other from an environmental point of view and for this reason extremely significant: natural and man-made environments. The locations chosen by the artist for his installations were the stretch of water inside the Arsenal, in some sandbanks of the South Lagoon of Venice, in the WWF Reserve of Val Averto and at Falconera Island.
As already known, Roberto Ghezzi’s works are a result of a process between Man and Nature where the artist acts by choosing the place of the installation and the strictly natural material of the support, then entrusting the canvases to the waters and lands and, above all, delegating to time and the randomness of the intervention of Nature itself the task of completing the work.
Roberto Ghezzi’s Naturographies©, besides possessing a strong artistic connotation, are increasingly acquiring a scientific value, an effective means of reconnaissance on the state of the environments (natural or man-made) in which they are installed. Thanks to the collaboration begun in 2021 with CNR-IOM in Trieste and CNR-ISMAR in Venice, some of the fabric samples in this project have been the subject of scientific studies thanks to investigations conducted with the scanning electron microscope (SEM).
Thus the result of this art project can be interpreted from multiple perspectives: artistic, philosophical and scientific. The viewer is confronted with an unusual production, bearer of mixed aesthetic canons (natural-human), symbolic values (the artist delegating the gestural act to nature), ethical aspects (understanding and dialogue with the landscape and its preservation).
